About the Team
Jordan and Rivers. The yin and the yang. The stubborn and the more stubborn. Willing to gnaw every last bone in the name of quality solutions. Graduates of the University of Washington and Utah State University Schools of Art, dedicated pursuers of both clean, clear, informative design and that eye-catching, totally impractical but oh-so-apropos viral vibe, depending on the mission.
About the Name
Norwegian in origin, Hukee is one of the rare names made longer on Ellis Island. The original spelling was Huke, deemed to difficult to pronounce by 1890’s immigration standards, and so the second “e” was added. (Hukee rhymes with cookie)
About the Studio
Conveniently located (for us, anyway) in the mountains outside of Salt Lake City where smooth roads, epic gravel and world-class singletrack abound. Unlike many design agencies working in the outdoor segment, we spend significant time getting dirty riding, tubing, dog wrestling, tinkering with gear and smacktalking so when you ask us what your customers think of your brand or products, we can tell you.
About our Clients
Our location has proven irrelevant to our clients, who hail from all over the globe. We work with companies in Taipei, Bergamo, Little Rock, and Seattle on a daily basis. Browse our portfolio to see the wide range of clients who wanted to stand out and get the bag.
What We Do
Our studio offers a wide range of graphic design services (logo/identity, print, web and product design), Social Media and Content Creation, Photography and Copywriting. We are also Shopify Partners and design wonderfully efficient, effective and profitable Shopify sites. Not every solution is digital so we also make stuff; Like physical objects WITH OUR REAL HANDS in our Studio Atelier (okay, it's a garage). Don't try this at home – Professionals at Work.
What is the Process
Ideally, we establish relationships with each client and develop unified creative directions for every company we work with. We also believe that every relationship has to start somewhere and that first dates are a good idea – we are happy to bid on small projects. Just send us an email.
What is the Cost
Logically, this is the first question every new client asks. Our answer varies. Design is a problem-solving process and some problems are more complicated than others. In order to give you a bid, we will need answers to questions like these:
1. What is your project?
2. What is your deadline?
3. Who are the stakeholders?
4. What is your budget?
New clients with no design buying experience may unsure of what is an appropriate budget for their project. You don’t have to pin it down exactly, but ask yourself how important is your success? Great design is possible at every pricepoint, but just as it would be silly for a tiny start-up to spend millions on a website, a small budget may not produce a robust solution for bigger companies with big audiences. Also, some jobs ARE too small or too big, and we're happy to let you know.
Finally there is the concern that a design team will gladly eat up whatever budget is given, with no regard for potential savings. To answer this, we refer to our clients. Our goal is to develop long term relationships with people who trust us to do what is in their best interests – and a big part of that is being conscious of reasonable expenditures and potential return on their design investments.
